DRONE STRIKES
THE POWER TO DECLARE WAR
THE HOPE TO CHANGE OUR
APPROACH AND - AVOID WAR
Under the Constitution, the
President, acting without a Congressional declaration of war, is
authorized only to repel invasion and sudden attacks.
THE POWER TO DECLARE WAR IS
GRANTED TO THE CONGRESS, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 8
CONGRESS, THE
PRESIDENT AND THE POWER TO WAGE WAR
ALEXANDER M. BICKEL*
WHEN the Constitutional
Convention was debating allocation of the war power within the federal
government George Mason of Virginia said that he "was against giving the
power of war to the Executive,
because not safely to be trusted with it
He was for clogging rather than
facilitating war; but for facilitating peace."
*.htmf
the United States, expressed the same thought. "It
should be more easy to get out of war," said
Ellsworth, "than into it." '
Per Bickel, We have managed, over the years, to reverse the proper order
of things. We have managed to clog peace and facilitate war.
UNITED STATES AND FOREIGN BASES
There are about 800 of them
and they cost us about $156 billion per year. By occupying all these bases it
makes it much easier to meddle in foreign countries.
I believe that we must
close all of them.
DRONE TERRORISM
STOP DRONE TERRORISM
Thou shalt
not kill. Exodus 20:13
Ecclesiastes 3:8 A time to
love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Congress HAS NOT Declared
War. Therefore, it is NOT a time to kill.
U.S. counterterrorism
drone strikes have become normalized and are now a near-daily occurrence. Congress
must take action to STOP THE DRONE ATTACKS.
The unconstitutional act of
our executive branch is NOT counterterrorism NO it is TERRORISM on the part
of the United States Government.
DRONE STRIKES ARE MAKING
THE WORLD A MORE DANGEROUS PLACE TO BE
Bush
and Obama were
responsible for 174 and 2436 deaths respectively via Drone attacks in foreign
countries.
Under the Trump Administration it is claimed that the
DRONE death rate is 80 times those of the Bush Administration.
DRONE attacks, I believe, are terrorist attacks
by our nation - against any foreign nations being attacked, unilaterally, by
our chief executive.
Constitution,
Amendment 5
No person shall be held to
answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or
indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval
forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public
danger;
The fifth amendment talks
about public danger; I see NO improvement in our American safety level as a
result of the President using a drone half way around the world in a foreign
country.
CONGRESS must end our
continuous state of war. Therefore, Congress should take action, as follows:
·
President G. W.
Bush should be censured for his acts of terrorism by using drones without a
declaration of war.
·
President Obama should be censured for his acts of terrorism by
using drones without a declaration of war.
·
President Trump
should be directed by Congress to immediately stop the drone attacks and
should be censured for his acts of terrorism by using drones without a
declaration of war.
